This Asset Recovery Program (ARP) is geared towards the recovery of parts from defective and/or obsolete items that are taken out of the field. After dis-assembly of the items, the separate components are carefully checked to see if they conform to a quality level, specified by the manufacturer. After this a selection of re-usable components is added to Elan IT Services own inventory of parts, which can then be used for repair. One of the advantages of the ARP is that parts, that are sometimes difficult to obtain from the manufacturer or from other parties, are readily available in the inventory. This avoids long delivery times, which Elan IT Services to effect the repairs quickly and that the potential assets from obsolete or defective units are recovered. This is a substantial benefit to both the manufacturer and Elan IT Services. Another very important advantage of this program is that the number of Components that would otherwise find their way into the environ-ment as scrap, is reduced significantly and we all benefit from that!
