Scan business books and the business press and you'll find

closer and you'll find that most actual Missions and Visions are
very similar and deeply uninspiring.

And we intend to keep it that way, by a lengthening lead. But
that's got nothing to do with Vision or Mission – that's a business

world. It follows from our Aspirations that a key part of our

Most companies, when they talk of values, set out a list of
virtuous aspirations: valuing people, integrity, honesty and the
like. There's nothing wrong with that but, all too often, the list
remains just that, a list.
